Are you passionate about inspiring young musicians? Join our vibrant Steiner school community in Mparntwe Alice Springs as a Strings Teacher and nurture creativity, rhythm, and a love for music in our students.

Our current Strings teacher has taught at the School for over 16 years, and she has left big shoes to fill. If you are a tertiary trained music graduate with a major in Strings or a professional player interested in teaching more, than this is the job for you. Alice Springs may be regional but there are still many opportunities to play with the professional players from the Alice Springs World Chamber Orchestra and the Darwin Symphony Orchestra.

Strings has a special place in a Steiner school; the successful applicant is expected to demonstrate a caring and nurturing interaction with all students regardless of their age and gender.

The Strings Teacher’s primary responsibility is to plan, organise and implement an instructional strings program that guides and encourages our grades 3-9 students to develop and fulfil their musical potential. We have a large music room with a baby grand piano. We have an established instrument hire program and a library of school music. The successful applicant with be able to teach from beginner to advanced level. They will have a high standard of playing and be able to teach in small groups and ensemble groups.
