Our Spring Festival
Our Spring Festival is a cherished event that celebrates renewal, community, and the changing season, held annually on the second-last day of Term 3.
This year, students, teachers, and families gathered beneath the expansive Central Australian sky on our school oval for our event. The festival commenced with a heartfelt Acknowledgement of Country, led by our Class 6 students, paying tribute to the traditional custodians of the Country we play and learn on. Following this, each class took turns sharing a unique bush dance they had learned, inviting the wider community to join in and participate.
The evening’s music was provided by our talented Class 7 and 8 Bush Band, who were accompanied by students from Classes 4, 5, and 6, playing violins, violas, and cellos, enriching the festival’s atmosphere with harmonious melodies.
A highlight of this year’s event was a special performance by Class 5, who had been training with the Lion Heart Association. Their captivating performance was a wonderful addition to the festival, bringing excitement and joy to all in attendance.
It was heartwarming to witness families, both new and long-standing, come together to share stories, celebrate the season, and deepen their connection to the land and each other.
