Our Open Mic night, raising funds for the Animal Shelter
What a fun night we all had! Thank you to everyone who came and supported our community fundraising event. We managed to raise over $1000 for The Alice Springs Animal shelter, which is a dear cause to all of our children and young adults.
We were simply blown away by courage and originality demonstrated by all of the performers. To watch some our younger performers walk onto the stage brimming with so much self confidence really was something to remember. With the love of their family, friends and community they were creative and fearless.
The violins, violas, cellos, were adored and we thank Jane our Music teacher for supporting the students with these performances. To everyone that sang, performed and donated cakes and money, we really appreciate it. To our wonderful teachers that organised and supported this event, thank you for your generosity.
Performance is about connection, not perfection. The act of performing is a gift that is received with love and gratitude. Performance connects people and this connection creates a sense of belonging. This is what is important for our children and community.
